Data Deletion Request

The everyday consumer app is used anonymously — we never ask for your name, email, or phone number. Fleet managers use an account (email + password). This page explains what data may be associated with you or your device and how to have it deleted.
Fastest option: clearing the app's data or uninstalling it immediately removes the anonymous ID stored on your device. To also remove records held on our servers, email us as described below.
What data we may hold
- Anonymous device ID + linked-dashcam associations — a random ID created on your device and the list of dashcams you've linked.
- Your dashcam recordings/clips — private to you, if you saved any.
- Fleet account (managers only) — your email and name, and the truck numbers, driver names, geofences, and alerts you created for your fleet.
- Road-hazard contributions — road-facing images retained on access-controlled Civilytix infrastructure to improve our detection models; imagery published on the public map has faces and number plates blurred and is aggregated across many drivers.
How to request deletion
- Email harshit.sharma@civilytix.com (or harshitsharma182021@gmail.com) with the subject "Delete my data".
- Include the ID or IMEI of the dashcam you linked (and your in-app device ID if you have it) so we can locate the records tied to you. Fleet managers: email from your account address and ask to delete your account.
- We will delete your device associations, any stored recordings, your fleet account and its data (if any), and any remaining raw media tied to you, and confirm by email within 30 days.

What can and can't be deleted
- Deleted on request: your anonymous device ID and dashcam links, any recordings/clips stored for you, and (for fleet managers) your account, truck/driver labels, geofences, and alerts.
- Cannot be individually deleted: anonymised, aggregated hazard-map points — because faces/plates are blurred and the data is combined across many drivers, there is no identifier left to link them to you. They remain on the public safety map.
